I was asked by a Never Without client of ours to create an admin section to a site that would enable a user to download an Excel spreadsheet of a MySQL database.

I have created a PHP file that, when edited to suit your host, username, password, and table, will parse the information of a specific MySQL table that you define into an Excel file that will automatically download to your desktop.

The end file will include column headers for the table, as well as the data.

Awesome ! Dude Great Script................ Dude can convert the Mysql data of Reporting file , where webpage display the weekly report based on JOIN tables. i want the output of webpage and convert into Excel file. Reply me back ...........stunnermind@yahoo.co.in

Ideally would like to be able to change the formatting of the exported file a bit so the columns are wider if you have info on how to do this that would be appreciated.

Hi script is really gr8. But I wanna know that is there a way out that we have only some columns in excel sheet instead of all the columns that are coming in excel right now. Will be a gr8 help from yr side thnks

Unfortunately I don't have a copy of Excel 2007 to test against. I'm sorry I can't help you out with that until I do.

When used with Excel 2007 a warning is issued when the program opens the generated file: the file format specified by the filename is different from the actual file format. Is there a way to avoid or resolve this warning?
